Each Octav Mureș violin is crafted with a carved spruce top and maple back and sides, with attractive natural flame that varies from instrument to instrument. Genuine ebony fittings, hand-inlaid purfling, ebony pegs, and an ebony chinrest give the instrument a refined, traditional look rarely found at this level.
Professionally Set Up by Atelier
This violin is individually inspected, adjusted and play-tested by Atelier for Fine Stringed Instruments before shipment. In our Norwalk and Greenwich, CT workshops, our luthiers check and adjust the bridge, nut and string height, pegs, soundpost, fingerboard and fittings, then tune and play-test the instrument, so it arrives ready for lessons rather than for a repair shop. Before leaving Atelier, every violin is carefully inspected, adjusted, and prepared for comfortable playability, easy response, and reliable tone. Our setup process includes attention to the bridge, soundpost, saddle, fingerboard, peg function, string height, and final playability. These details help the instrument respond more easily and allow the student to progress with confidence.
Each violin is strung with D'Addario Prelude strings, providing a clear, dependable sound for orchestra, lessons, and daily practice. Optional string upgrades are available at the time of purchase.
