The Scherl & Roth SR51 Galliard is a complete student violin outfit featuring solid tonewoods, traditional appointments, and dependable components for beginning and developing players.

The violin is constructed with a solid spruce top, solid maple back and sides, hand-inlaid purfling, an ebony fingerboard, ebony pegs, and a hand-applied spirit varnish. The outfit also includes a carbon-fiber bow and protective oblong thermoplastic case.

Two setup options are available:

Standard Manufacturer Setup — $1,259

The standard outfit is delivered in its original manufacturer-prepared configuration. It includes:

  • Manufacturer-adjusted bridge and soundpost
  • Ebony fingerboard and tuning pegs
  • Composite tailpiece with four integrated fine tuners
  • Factory-installed D’Addario Prelude strings
  • Carbon-fiber violin bow
  • Oblong thermoplastic case
  • Final inspection by Atelier Fine Strings before shipment

This option does not include Atelier’s extended one-hour luthier setup, custom bridge fitting, peg treatment, soundpost optimization, or Dominant string upgrade.

Atelier Professional Setup — Add $250

Select this optional upgrade to have the instrument extensively prepared by one of Atelier Fine Strings’ professional luthiers.

Our luthiers spend no less than one hour working on each upgraded instrument. The setup includes:

  • Reshaping the bridge and adjusting its height
  • Individually fitting the bridge feet to the violin’s top
  • Treating and adjusting the pegs for smooth, secure tuning
  • Adjusting the soundpost for improved response and tonal balance
  • Replacing the factory strings with Thomastik-Infeld Dominant strings
  • Complete final inspection and playability check

A professional setup can make a substantial difference in the instrument’s response, tuning performance, comfort, and overall sound. This upgrade is optional and is not included in the standard $1,259 price.

Because the Atelier setup involves customized luthier work and installation of new strings, please allow additional preparation time before shipment.
