Canzona Pietro Locatelli Violin Outfit

Premium Advanced Instrument – Expertly Set Up by Atelier

The Canzona Pietro Locatelli Violin is where serious craftsmanship, refined tone, and real-world value meet. Designed for advancing students who need an instrument that can keep up with growing technique and musical expression, the Locatelli delivers the sound, feel, and visual character typically associated with far more expensive violins.

Fully hand-carved from highly figured Grade AA tonewoods, the Locatelli features a seasoned spruce top and flamed curly maple back that have been naturally dried for 4–5 years, allowing the instrument to resonate freely with depth, clarity, and balance. The result is a violin that speaks easily, projects confidently, and rewards proper bow control and phrasing.

A professional-quality, hand-applied spirit-and-oil-mixed varnish gives the Locatelli its striking visual identity. Shaded edges, a defined color pattern, and subtle antique-style craquelure create the look of a mature instrument while enhancing tonal response. This is not cosmetic flash—it’s a finish designed to let the violin breathe and mature over time.

Outfitted with ebony fittings, a single Wittner fine tuner, and a precisely fit Aubert #7 bridge, the Locatelli is set up for resonance, balance, and control. Unlike many instruments at this level, it comes standard with Thomastik Dominant strings, a benchmark string choice trusted by teachers and advancing players worldwide for their warmth, flexibility, and tonal complexity.

Before leaving our shop, every Locatelli violin undergoes a complete professional setup by Atelier luthiers, including soundpost adjustment, bridge refinement, string optimization, and final play-testing. The instrument arrives ready to perform, not “factory fresh.”

The outfit is completed with a beautiful hard case, carbon composite bow, and Kaplan rosin, ensuring everything needed for serious study is included from day one.
