Versatile Educational Instrument – Professionally Set Up by Atelier

The Canzona Violina Cinque is a powerful and practical tool for the classroom, studio, and teaching environment. Designed with educators in mind, this 5-string violin combines the familiar feel of a full-size violin with the added range of a viola—making it uniquely suited for demonstration, instruction, and flexible performance.

At its core, the Violina Cinque is a full-size violin paired with a 14" viola’s low C string, allowing teachers to demonstrate violin, viola, and even cello parts without changing instruments. Because it sounds in the correct octave for both violin and viola, it simplifies instruction while keeping students focused and engaged.

Built on the same platform as the Canzona Caprice, the Violina Cinque features identical materials, setup standards, and playability—enhanced by a purpose-built 5-string configuration.

Fully hand-carved from seasoned spruce and flamed curly maple, the instrument is finished with a professional-quality hand-applied spirit varnish for durability and resonance. Ebony fittings and a Wittner 5-string tailpiece ensure reliable tuning and stability, even with the added string.

The Violina Cinque is set up with D’Addario Prelude strings, chosen for their consistency, durability, and classroom-friendly reliability. As with every Canzona instrument, it is completely shop-adjusted by Atelier luthiers prior to shipping—bridge fit, soundpost placement, string height, and final play-testing are all handled in-house.
