The sound
Sculpted in wood, built to be heard
At its core is a passive high-output bridge pickup borrowed from Yamaha’s professional Silent Series violins, faithfully capturing every nuance of the bow stroke. Whether you play acoustically or through effects, the YEV104NT produces a rich, warm and organic tone, and a selector switch lets you bypass the volume control for a pure, uncolored signal.
It accepts standard shoulder and chin rests, so traditional violinists can move to electric without changing their setup, and the lightweight contoured frame stays comfortable through long performances.

“A beautiful work of modern art! That’s exactly what comes to mind each and every time I pickup my Yamaha electric violin. I am the envy of all my string playing friends and won’t let any of them touch it! (Okay, maybe one or two of them have played it….im not a total jerk!) Seriously though, I’m in love with this instrument! It came to me totally ready to play and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it!”
