The Canzona Milano 400 Series Viola is the top model in the Canzona student viola lineup, designed for serious students and advancing players who need a richer, more responsive instrument than a basic beginner viola.

Fully hand-carved from seasoned spruce and flamed curly maple, the Milano offers a warm, resonant tone with strong projection and a responsive feel under the bow. Its hand-applied spirit varnish enhances both the sound and appearance of the instrument, bringing out the natural figure of the maple and giving the viola a classic, mature look.

The Milano is appointed with elegant Parisian-eye ebony pegs and end button, an ebony Guarneri-style chinrest, and a Wittner tailpiece with four integrated fine tuners for smooth, precise, and stable tuning. Each viola is professionally strung with D'Addario Prelude strings, chosen for their clear, focused sound and dependable response for student players.

Every Canzona Milano viola is inspected, adjusted, and professionally prepared by the luthiers at Atelier for Fine Stringed Instruments before it leaves our shop.

Our setup process includes careful bridge fitting and shaping, soundpost adjustment for tone and balance, peg and tuning inspection, string height review, and final play-testing. These details matter. A viola may look beautiful, but the setup is what determines whether it feels comfortable, responds properly, and helps the player progress.
