The Andreas Eastman VA200 Stradivari Viola is a handcrafted step-up instrument designed for advancing students, serious young musicians, adult players, and violists seeking greater tonal depth, responsiveness, and refinement than a basic student instrument can provide.

Available in sizes from 11 inches through 16½ inches, the VA200 allows developing players to enjoy the craftsmanship and performance of the same respected Eastman model as they grow. Available sizes include 11", 12", 13", 14", 15", 15½", 16", and 16½".

Each VA200 is built on a traditional Stradivari pattern and crafted with a carved spruce top, maple back and ribs, genuine hand-inlaid purfling, an ebony fingerboard, boxwood fittings, and a Despiau 1 Tree bridge. A shaded spirit varnish highlights the natural character of the tonewoods and gives each viola a warm, traditionally styled appearance.

The VA200 produces a warm, balanced, and projecting tone with the clarity and responsiveness needed for advancing technique. It is equally well suited for school orchestras, youth ensembles, private lessons, auditions, chamber music, and recreational playing.

The proper viola size depends on the player’s age, arm length, hand size, and physical comfort. Because viola sizing is less standardized than violin sizing, players should not select a size based on age alone.
