The Canzona Sonata 200 Series Viola (Model 200) is the next step up in the Canzona viola lineup, offering a richer, more responsive tone and refined craftsmanship for advancing students. Fully hand-carved from seasoned spruce and maple, the Sonata provides improved resonance, projection, and tonal depth while maintaining the durability required for everyday school use. A warm, hand-applied golden-brown varnish enhances the natural beauty of the wood and gives the instrument a classic, professional appearance. Ebony fittings—including fingerboard, pegs, and chinrest—ensure smooth tuning and long-term reliability, while a Wittner tailpiece with four integrated fine tuners allows for precise, player-friendly adjustments. The viola is professionally set up with D’Addario Prelude strings for a clear, focused sound and dependable response.

Each outfit includes a graphite composite bow and a lightweight case with dual bow holders, matching the Allegra outfit and making the instrument ready for immediate use. Before leaving our shop, every Canzona Sonata viola is carefully inspected and professionally set up by the expert luthiers at Atelier for Fine Stringed Instruments; the bridge and soundpost are properly fitted, pegs are adjusted for smooth tuning, and each instrument is tuned and play-tested to ensure comfortable playability and consistent tone from day one. Available in sizes 11” through 16.5”, the Canzona Sonata 200 Series Viola is an ideal choice for students ready to move into a more responsive, expressive instrument that will support continued musical growth.
